The Wide Open Blue

Currently Listening To :: Home :: Little Brother

I'm home on a Friday night, packing to head off to Malaysia via Singapore. Two weeks of no work, no phone calls, no share reports, no need to be operationally excellent for a while. Cool I hear you say. Noice you repeat, nodding in mutual agreement.

While this seems ideal on one hand, I do feel like I'm flying into the arms of a situation I'd rather not be in. Ungrateful and depressing as it sounds, a small part of me wishes I didn't have to make this trip.

So life isn't fair; I've grown to accept that. Life is fairer on others at times. That too has been a lesson learned.

The writer in me feels like I should make more of this trip, more of the situation I'm in and facing. But as a friend said to me a while back, "why does everything have to MEAN something? Why can't things just BE for a change??"

To put that comment to rest, I've decided to take that advice and just let things be. No long words of wishing, no paragraphs of pain. Just a simple message to mark the beginning of this journey over seas and across plains. Moving.

Into the arms of familiar change.

Public Service Annoucement

Currently Listening To :: I Like That :: Houston feat. Chingy

Breaking news is this public service announcement for the big "Not Another Asian Dance Party" this Saturday night."

Dear friends,

Due to an 11th hour managerial malfunction, our party on this saturday has been relocated to JACKSON'S ON GEORGE: 176 George Street Sydney (close to the Circular Quay end of George Street).

Please also come EARLY as the club may be charging entry ($10) after midnight.

DJ Hyper has also now been added to the DJ lineup which already includes DJs LaSu and Dynomite.

The date and time are still the same. It's still a birthday party for Stephen, Lillian, Adeline and I.

Please pass this on to whoever you passed on the original invite. I understand word of this party has spread rather wide so we'd appreciate any help we can get on getting this update on the party's relocation circulated to as many people in the next two and a half days.

I apologise for the short notice but I'm promising a great night for all who turn up.

Details again:
SATURDAY 6 NOVEMBER
9:30 til LATE
JACKSON'S ON GEORGE
176 George Street Sydney
FREE ENTRY before 12

Hope to see you all there.

Cheers

Christian
