Flying Blind Below The Radar

Currently Playing In My Head :: Random Chinese Tunes :: Missing my MD player...

I can't seem to access my site itself here in China. Perhaps they have started to block all blogger sites? Hmmm...

I've decided not to take the trip to Beijing. In this weather, I'm thinking it will be cold, miserable, and downright dangerous if I try to trek there on my own and then see the sites in the biting winter cold. I'm only just getting used to the cold here in Shanghai, and although below freezing temperatures are all good to me now, snow is a different matter entirely.

Shanghai is an awesome place to visit though. My friend Alwin has been great to take me and my other travelling buds around, but today we have all gone our seperate ways. Matt, LiShuai and Bill have jetted to Hong Kong, while by now Kev should be on his way back from Malaysia to Australia.

Going out, eating out, clubbing out; but thank God not passing out has been the order of the nighttime activities. Karaoke here is just as large as in Taiwan, and it's good to belt out a few tunes at 4am in the morning after a rnb music at The Stage. I've also managed to meet some really friendly locals here, and it's great to be able to practice my Mandarin and give the language skills a workout.

I'm off to a place called HangZhou this afternoon with some friends for the weekend. Should be a good trip, a chance to get out of Shanghai for a bit. Loads of film spent from my new Nikon F55 SLR; hopefully the shots will turn out. Perhaps I should read the manual more too...

Ok, gotta roll. Train leaves Shanghai in about 2 hours; gotta eat and pack, then get tickets. More soon, and keep posting the messages!
